Marks and Spencer Warehouse Customer Assistant Jobs

As a Marks and Spencer Warehouse Customer Assistant, you don’t have as much contact with the public as your storefront colleagues, however you are a key part of the store’s logistics and, after all, without you, they would have nothing to sell!

That said, you will still come into contact with customers who opt to take their purchases from the rear of the store using the ‘Collect by car service’ through which your section stores the goods until the customer is ready to pick them up.

Naturally, the warehouse is a busy place and you and your fellow workers will need to move boxes and other parcels around. Therefore, even though forklifts shift the big stuff about, there is still a significant amount of heavy lifting for you to do. Don’t worry if you’ve never done this before as you will be taught how to do it safely – no-one wants an industrial injury to happen.

Good organisational skills are essential as you direct deliveries and stock transfers to and from the store. This is when a teamplayer comes into his or her own since the whole body only works if each limb functions in unison.

You will also need to be flexible about both your attitude and your hours. The warehouse section needs to be up and about long before the store teams start work and you’ll still be busy long after they’ve gone home as you get ready for the next day’s business.

A keen eye for damaged goods and a sense of responsibility are essential in order to maintain the company’s product standards. Careless warehouse staff can cause a lot of damage so you will be expected to be of a different calibre.

Again, unlike other sections, to be a Marks and Spencer Warehouse Customer Assistant, you will need to be 18 or over as the work requires you to work with and around heavy machinery.
