Marks and Spencer retail a huge range of products and this requires an equally extensive database with the latest security features. There are also the in-store systems that deal with locating, moving and replacing stock. Finally there is the Marks and Spencer website which the company is looking to grow. Ecommerce provides a worldwide outlet for their products and M&S want to have a strong presence.
Requirements
Your job may be to develop systems, strengthen security, produce management reports, develop the eCommerce side of the business and so forth. You will, naturally be expected to be completely au-fait with the latest in the IT world and a knowledge of the retail world is also helpful. Marks and Spencer expect their IT personnel to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, good analytical skills, a high standard of literacy and numeracy and an ability to communicate at all levels.
Location
IT jobs are based at the company’s headquarters at Waterside House in London or at their Stockley Park office near Heathrow.
