Marks and Spencer’s Human Resources department provides a wide range of services through which it offers HR support to some 60,000 members of staff, both in the stores and at its Head Office. This covers:
HR Administration Jobs
All personnel records and data are held, updated and distributed by the HR Administration team. They also provide helpline support to Head Office employees.
Learning Jobs
The Learning Team are responsible for organising all in-store and head office training courses. This covers all aspects from inviting attendees, to booking venues and lecturers.
Payroll Jobs
Post-holders are responsible for the company payroll for all employees as well as running the staff discount scheme and administration relating to the company’s fleet of cars.
Pensions Jobs
These Marks and Spencer’s staff record pension contributions from active staff, operate the pension scheme for retired employees and provide a confidential helpline for all employees – current and former.
Recruitment Jobs
The Recruitment Section responds to internal requests to fill vacancies, publishes new jobs and processes completed applications whether by post, phone or online. Every Christmas, temporary staff are engaged on a contract that can last for up to 17 weeks in order to oversee recruitment of seasonal store workers. Some temporary staff can end up taking permanent positions.

Operational Delivery Manager Jobs
There is an operational delivery manager for every team and this person is also required to see that service level agreements are complied with.
Team Leader Jobs
Every team needs its team leader who is in charge of up to 20 administrative staff.
Administrators Jobs
Administrators carry out general administrative duties as required in order to meet Marks and Spencer customer service level agreements.

Marketing jobs are based at the company’s headquarters at Waterside House in London.
