The finance team is there to keep a tight rein on every transaction made by the entire company and to prepare accounts and analyses for top-level board-room policy decisions. These reports will affect every aspect of the way in which Marks and Spencer runs its stores.
With the input of the finance team, the effect of the introduction of new product lines, store and personnel changes can all be monitored. Armed with that vital information, Marks and Spencer’s directors can make informed and logical decisions for the future of the company.
Requirements
Naturally you will need to be highly numerate and have a background and qualification in a financial subject such as accountancy. With M&S’ large product range, the post carries a highly diverse array of duties such as calculating food spoilages, assessing store performances and producing tax returns.
Accuracy and dedication are essential and you will need excellent communication skills. You will be required to make presentations to senior management.
Training is available for the right personnel and this can lead towards a formal qualification such as becoming a chartered accountant.
