The Marks and Spencer Finance and Accounting Division is split into four sections:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Financial Accounting and Banking
- Financial Systems Operation
Between them, they deal with all payments to and from the company, and administer the whole financial infrastructure.
Accounts Payable Jobs
The staff of the Accounts Payable section make sure that the invoices of all suppliers are checked, reconciled against delivery notes, and paid.
Accounts Receivable Jobs
This section deals with issuing invoices to other organisations and dealing with credit control.
Financial Accounting and Banking Jobs
Bank accounts need to be reconciled, store cash accounts must be integrated, and information for the Accounting Shared Service Centre management team collated.
Finance Systems Operations Jobs
This team provides the administrative services for the finance systems and offers analysis and support for the implementation of new procedures and developments.
Finance and Accounting Shared Services Jobs
Operational Manager Jobs
Each team has its Operational Manager who has overall responsible for their team and the financial functions it performs.
Team Leader Jobs
Second in command to the Operational Manager, the Team Leader is in charge of up to 15 Finance Assistants.
Finance Assistants Jobs
Carry out financial-related duties as assigned to them by their Team Leader or their Operational Manager.
Systems Analysts Jobs and Systems Administrators Jobs
The Systems staff support the everyday running of the Finance Section as well as assisting with the introduction of new or modified systems, prioritising business requirements and resolving business-related issues.
Location
Finance jobs are based at the company’s headquarters at Waterside House in London.
