Cardiff is the capital of Wales and is also it’s largest city with a population nearing 350,000. Cardiff serves as the main driver for the Welsh economy, which initially grew to prominence through the mining of coal. Several decades ago, Cardiff’s port area known as Tiger Bay was the busiest port in the world. In modern times, the finance and business sectors along with education, health and public administration make up 75% of Cardiff’s growth since the early 90s. Companies like Legal & General, Admiral, Zurich, ING Direct, British Gas and SWALEC Energy all have operations in the city.
