Black Horse Contractors, the Cricklade-based civil engineering contractors, has gone into administration with the loss of 190 jobs.
The company had a head office in Cricklade, Wiltshire and depots in Wellington, Somerset and Rogiet, Monmouthshire. All workers will be made redundant by the end of 2011.
Specialist administrators, KPMG, are now in charge of disposing of the company which, at its peak had a turnover of £25m.
Tough economic conditions leading to problems gaining finance are being blamed on the collapse of Black Horse Contractors.
